This site is dedicated to the memory of Lydia Macdonald.

Our beautiful daughter Lydia only 28 years old and a single mum to her 3 years old son Mason, Died in her sleep of an asthma attack leaving Mason on his own to fend for himself for 2 days...  You cannot begin to imagine how distraught this has made us.. The pain of losing our beautiful daughter and the pain of knowing that our beautiful grandson Mason was all alone..
Lydia was a bubbly girl... Full of life. With the biggest smile that would light up any room.. Even though Lydia was a single mum and didn't have lot of money she would still give anyone who needed it her last penny... She was a wonderful mum to Mason and they adored one another.. When you seen them they were always  laughing and being silly.. Singing and doing silly dances was their thing... She taught Mason so much.. She taught him to be loving, kind and to be independant... Which in the 2 days when he needed his mummy.. being independant was his saving grace....
When Lydia was just 2 years old. She would be wheezing and being out of breath a lot.. Soon after that she was diagnosed with asthma and always in need of  a nebuliser when her inhaler would not work.. As she got older her asthma seemed to get worse which caused us a lot of worry. We would be dialing 999 for an ambulance a lot through the years..
She became a qualified hairdresser and was great at it, but she had to find a different career as the hair spray etce was making her asthma worse. Lydia then found her dream job. A  care worker looking after teenagers with learning difficulties  or autism.. Lydia was a people person.. She knew how to make people laugh and I was told that these young one's all loved Lydia. I know she loved them too.
Lydia gave birth to her beautiful son at the age of 24.. Lydia and her partner (Masons daddy) were over joyed.. But 8 months later a tragedy happened.... Lydia's love and Mason' daddy died. Heart broken Lydia put all her love into Mason.
They were inseparable. Its been said so many times by so many people that Mason is a credit to her.. He still does all the silly dancing and singing that he would do with mummy. He is just like Lydia and loves to make people laugh!!  I can see that Lydia will live on in him...
No one should have to go through all this Pain.. No one should live a life struggling to breath at times. There has been so many people saying to me that they didn't know that asthma can kill you..  So that is why my husband Ron and myself Linda have started campaigning  and fundraising for Asthma uk. Asthma research are chronically underfunded and needs your help. So please be the change you want to see in this world.. And help the world to breathe..
Lydia has also got a face book page... Called : Lydia Macdonald Tribute fund..
For anyone wondering about Mason.. He is living with us ( Nanna and Grandad) and doing really well.
